Leading the cabinet of India by Modi Ji has lunched the scheme of the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan for ST category people or tribal families. This scheme aims to improve the ocio-economic condition of tribal communities. Total budget of this scheme is Rs.79,156 crore (Central Share: Rs.56,333 crore and State Share: Rs. 22,823 crore). In this scheme Central govt and state govt both will help the tribal families economically.
As per the latest report from the PIB or PM India total beneficiaries will be 63,000 villages as confirmed in the union budget 2024-25. This covers 549 districts and 2,740 blocks across all tribal majority villages across 30 States and Union Territory.
According to the latest report and census of the 2011 total population of ST categories are 10.45 crore in India.
Developing Enabling Infrastructure
- Pucca house: Under this scheme every eligible family member will get the house that is made with solid things like bricks, with proper designed. Along with the house these daily needed things also provided to the family member like tapped water (Jal Jeevan Mission) and electricity supply (RDSS). Family member also will be given the access of the Ayushman Bharat Card (PMJAY) to get the treatment of the their health.
- Improving Village infrastructure: To improve the village infrastructure pakki road, Electricity, mobile connectivity infrastructure for improving health, nutrition, and education (NHM, Samagra Shiksha and Poshan). these facilities will be added in the ST majorities villages.
Promotion of Economic Empowerment
Skill Development Entrepreneurship promotion and enhanced livelihood(self-employment): This is very significant steps taken by the govt of India. In the promotion of economics people of the ST majorities will be benefited from the scheme Skill India. The students who are preparing in the 10th and 12th standard to encourage to learn the Skill course.
These are very popular to enhance the connectivity like Further, Marketing support through Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Centre (TMMC), Tourist Home Stays and Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery support.Overall this scheme purpose to boost the economy of the tribal families in all over India.
Access to Good Education
To access the good education in the majorities tribal reason in India. To make the easy and simple school and colleges will be opened with high qualified teachers in that area. To create quality education affordable and accessible to ST students (Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan) by setting up tribal hostels in schools at district/block level.
Healthy lives and Dignified Ageing
Cabinet is dedicated to provide the good health service to ST households area. Making the govt clinic along with Aasha, Nurse, Pregnancy. The facilities of the medical Mobile Medical Units in areas where sub centre is more than 10 km in plain areas and 5 kms in Hilly areas (National Health Mission). After implemented this scheme govt tribal people’s living standard will increase properly.
